Minneapolis-based healthcare private equity firm makes Inc.’s annual list of the top
private equity and venture capital firms with success backing entrepreneurs

Minneapolis – Healthcare private equity firm TT Capital Partners (TTCP) announced today that it has been named to Inc.’s 2022 Founder-Friendly Investor list. Inc.’s fourth annual list of Founder-Friendly Investors, previously known as the Private Equity 50, honors the top private equity and venture capital firms with success backing entrepreneurs.

The 2022 list recognizes 184 firms that entrepreneurs collaborate with and trust as they receive the financial support they need to help drive growth. All 184 have successfully remained actively involved with the businesses they invest in.

“Fully investing in an entrepreneur and their innovative vision involves far more than the financial investment. By developing relationships with and supporting entrepreneurs for the long-term, these private equity firms are more than investors, they’re partners,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. media.

“I founded this business over a decade ago with a clear vision to create meaningful connections with business founders and owners,” said TTCP Executive Chairman and Partner Kevin Green. “That vision has been an important part of our heritage from the beginning, and we’ve built a firm and a team centered around that idea of creating connections and adding value. I’m so proud of what our team has accomplished and honored to see our vision realized in this recognition.”

TTCP CEO and Partner Dawn Owens added, “Our firm was purpose-built to be a value-add investor—providing not only capital, but also deep market insights, ongoing operating expertise, and access to an expansive industry network to help our companies grow and to help our founders realize their visions.”

“From the first time I met them, TTCP impressed me with their deep knowledge of the industry and their extensive relationships,” said David Hines, founder of ConsumerMedical, a leading clinical advocacy and expert medical opinion company that TTCP invested in in 2015. Throughout the investment, TTCP supported ConsumerMedical’s rapid growth, and company revenue grew more than 450% in six years. In 2021, TTCP orchestrated the acquisition of ConsumerMedical by Alight Solutions.

“During the six years we worked together, the TTCP team was always available to jump in and provide thoughtful guidance and support,” added Hines. “After nearly 15 years as an independent, bootstrapped company, it was a big decision for us to raise capital and bring on a partner. Partnering with TT Capital Partners was a great decision for me and for ConsumerMedical, and I would make the same decision again today.”

To compile the 2022 list of Founder-Friendly Investors, Inc. went straight to the source: entrepreneurs who have brought on private equity and venture capital firms. Founders completed a questionnaire about their experiences partnering with private equity and venture capital firms and shared data on how their companies have grown during these partnerships.

Introduced in 2019, theFounder-Friendly Private Equity Firmslist quickly established itself as one of Inc.’s most resourceful franchises. It has become a go-to guide for entrepreneurs who want to grow their companies while retaining an ownership stake. The October 2022 issue of Inc. magazine is available online and on newsstands now.
